Winter's Night

Why your eyes so bright?
When they shine in this winter night
Snow dazzles and melts on your skin
Cheeks rosy in the winter wind
Slowly I gaze around
To find your queen in winter's crown
Hand in hand, head on shoulder
She snuggles up before winter's colder
Hiding back my frozen tears
I run inside despite my winter fears
Fire smells of smokes and fumes
Hiding back from winter's tombs
Lying fighting hiding trying
Winter's lost in all this crying
Finally tears melted by the fire
Winter's late and I'm very tired
Ice is slick and bitter cool
But I travel home winter leaves me fooled
